The proper way to handle your towels

Did you know that keeping your towels in the perfect condition is as easy as washing them? Yes, by just implementing a little bit of care in handling them and by using the right technique for washing them, we can help them last really long. We refrain from using those which stiffen over a period of time, or get faded to the extent that you reflexively choose the other one on the rack, but wouldn’t it be great if we could keep them all as bright and soft as those hotel towels you adore are! So, let’s learn how we can do it.

  1. Wash once or twice a week

It is not necessary to wash them daily if you air dry them after use. Washing them on a regular basis damages the fabric, therefore, a wash in every three to four days is good enough. However, you obviously need to wash them, for the sake of hygiene, more often than twice a week, if your towels develop a smell or if you have used it to clean dirt.

  1. The detergent matters!

Towels tend to get faded, scratchy and stiff with repeated washes. This happens when you use too much detergent, and when you use the wrong one. While washing them, you should use half the amount of detergent you use for washing other clothes. When it comes to the choice of detergent, it is of utmost importance that you choose one that would protect the fabric of the towels as well as keep them from fading. So, get rid of those harsh washing powders and switch to Champion Blue as it’s StainGo ColourPro Technology helps fight stains, protects colour and also helps maintain the freshness of your towels.

  1. The right temperature for washing

The fabric of your towel helps determine the correct temperature required to wash it. Irrespective of that, if they are dirty, it is recommended that you wash them using hot water, as it helps sanitise them. When it comes to colour, the light coloured ones can be washed in hot water, but very hot water can make the dark coloured ones bleed.

  1. Try to wash them separately

Since they are very absorbent, it is advisable to wash them separately as they soak up colours from clothes that bleed faster than most other clothing materials in your laundry. Also, never wash the towels that you use to clean dirt, along with your other clothes because the dirt then gets transferred to all the clothes that you’re washing, as well.

  1. Drying your towels

You should hang your bath-towels to dry each time after use. Not doing so, and just leaving them rolled up in a corner can result in the growth of mildew. If you plan on drying them in a dryer, be it after a wash or use, make sure to read the care instructions carefully before doing so. To refrain from damaging the fabric, avoid drying them for too long inside the dryer. Air-drying, on the other hand, is a great option, as sunlight helps to kill the germs as well.

All it takes to start preserving all your towels is choosing the right detergent and knowing the correct way to deal with them. So just follow these advices and get Champion Blue to keep your towels immaculate always.
